What's New

September is flying by as we head into fall, a season that will keep our Lens team busy with conferences, remote monitoring projects, and our annual retreat. Next week you can catch Abby, Alison, Carolyn and Katie at the Land Trust Alliance Rally - we can't wait to connect with our amazing customers who'll be there. We've got more info about opportunities to connect and Lens updates below!

New to the Library: Global Biodiversity Data 🌍

We’re excited to announce a new collection of datasets in the Lens Library covering a range of information including forest landscapes, biodiversity hotspots and terrestrial ecoregions. These datasets may be of particular interest to any of our customers working on land conservation, carbon, and/or biodiversity projects! Check out the full list below, and read more about each dataset by clicking on the tile in the Library:

  • Landcover (Brazil) - MapBiomas
  • Landcover (Chaco) - MapBiomas
  • WWF World Terrestrial Ecoregions
  • Biodiversity Hotspots
  • Intact Forest Landscapes for the years 2020, 2016, 2013 and 2000

Additional Pages in Reports 📄

We're happy to share that you can now add more pages to a report. Is the information you need to share about a property too long to fit on the cover page? No problem! Just add another page and continue working.

Opportunities to Connect 👋

Customer Program: Peer-to-Peer Connection Program

We're so excited to share that our peer-to-peer connection program is back! As a Lens user, you have the opportunity to be matched with 2-3 folks from other organizations to connect about how your teams use Lens, your approach to remote monitoring, and any tips and tricks you may have to share ✨

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Opt in by September 27th by clicking the button below
  • The Lens team will connect you via email to your small group
  • Meet with your peer group for a 30 min conversation in October

The Details:

  • Reply to this email to refer an organization -- please include the name of the organization and the main contact in your message
  • There are two easy eligibility requirements for the referred organization:
    • They must be new to Lens (i.e. haven't worked with us in the past)
    • And they need to sign up for an annual plan

We're hiring!

Like what you're reading and want to be more involved? Know someone else who might be? We're hiring for several positions, including two new early career positions that opened this week: Marketing Coordinator and Business Operations Coordinator.

Where on Earth?

Did you know that high resolution true color imagery can be used to monitor changes in coastal areas? In the example below sea lettuce is visible in bright green on the mud flats at low tide, and clam beds are visible in the south western section. Hot Tip

Are you working through your to-do list for monitoring properties remotely? As we approach fall, guarantee imagery coverage before any snowfall occurs by using the tasking estimator tool in Lens. Tasking allows you to request imagery captures for your properties within a certain time frame, giving you control over the imagery availability to meet your remote monitoring needs.

Tasking is available with Standard and Enterprise plans.
