We introduce Upstream Tech’s partnership with Salo Sciences and how it enables AI-derived forest data layers such as wildfire risk, canopy coverage, canopy height, and more to be displayed in Lens. First, Salo Sciences discusses how they developed the California Forest Observatory. This data-driven forest monitoring system maps three-dimensional forest attributes and the drivers of wildfire hazard across the state—including forest fuels structure, weather, topography, and infrastructure—from space. Then, Upstream Tech provides a live demo to show how Salo Science’s AI-derived forest data layers are displayed in Lens, highlighting the various ways that Lens can be used to monitor forests.
