Understanding the details of your land is critical—whether you're planning a site visit, monitoring changes, or ensuring compliance with conservation easements. That’s why we’ve added new tools to Lens that make exploring and analyzing your properties even more precise and effortless.

Pixel info: see exact values, anywhere on the map 🎯

Ever looked at a map and wondered about the exact value of a single pixel? With the pixel info tool, you can now get precise pixel values, coordinates, and elevation data on hover.

✔ Check land cover classifications, vegetation indices, or carbon stock values at any point on your property
✔ View GPS coordinates to match data with on-the-ground locations
✔ See elevation data in 3D mode - this is especially useful when preparing for field visits, assessing terrain for erosion risk, planting suitability, or infrastructure planning.

How to use the pixel info tool:

  1. Click the target icon on the right side of your map
  2. Hover over any point to reveal its value or category, and GPS coordinates
  3. Activate 3D terrain mode to see elevation data for a better understanding of slope and topography

Measure area, not just distance 📐

Lens measurement tools are now more powerful than ever, enabling you to measure areas on your property as well as linear distances.

✔ Estimate the size of new developments like houses, sheds, or infrastructure
✔ Check compliance—built for land trusts monitoring conservation easements or tax assessors verifying parcel developments
✔ Plan projects with accurate area measurements

How to use the measure tool:

  1. Click the ruler icon on the right size of your map
  2. Select distance or area, and click on the map to draw your shape
  3. View length or area measurements—units will match your organization’s settings in feet/square feet or meters/square meters

Whether you're zooming in on a single pixel or measuring an entire landscape, these tools help you to make better, data-driven decisions with confidence. Log into Lens today and try them out!
