This past month has been extra exciting for the Lens team. We've been working on some incredible new feature releases, collecting and reviewing customer feedback, and even managed to be featured on Jeopardy! We've got more information about all of that, and in case you missed it, the clip from Jeopardy below:
We're so excited to introduce Lens Lookout: a revolutionary new way to continually survey your land and identify changes based on your precise criteria. Formerly known as Alerts, Lens Lookout is an automated monitoring assistant that does the tedious data-combing for you.
Here's how it works:
In the example below, we've created a Lookout policy for algal blooms. Check out this support article if you're curious to learn more about how it works or potential ways to use the feature -- we've got you covered!
Lens Lookout is available with Standard (Plus) and Enterprise plans.
We've released a ✨ new filter button ✨ to help you get exactly the information you need when working with index datasets from the Lens Library, making it easier than ever to pin-point areas of concern on a property. Click the filter icon on the legend and watch as the map updates in real-time to display only the pixels that fall within your specified range! Read more about this feature in this support article.
Planet recently released V1.1 of its Forest Carbon Diligence product 🌳 , which estimates aboveground carbon density, canopy height, and canopy cover at a global scale with 30-meter resolution (read the release notes here). This dataset is available for order in the Lens Library on a per-acre basis with no minimums. With your first order of Forest Carbon Diligence, you will receive the most recent available year plus the entire historical archive as an added bonus. You can read more about using this dataset in Lens in this support article, and explore an interactive example for yourself!
We were really pleased to see the important work and positive impacts of conservation action highlighted in a recent paper published in Science. We wrote up a quick summary and linked the full article in our blog post, linked here.
Like what you're reading and want to be more involved? Know someone else who might be? We're hiring for several positions and also have an Open Call for applications if you have something in mind.
Did you know you can open the Analysis tool directly from a saved note? Click the three dots on an existing note to open the Analysis tool and analyze that area. Since you won't need to redraw the polygon for that area, you save some time and keep your remote monitoring of that area consistent!

Happy Monitoring!
