Landsat 8 now in Lens

The Lens Library now includes imagery and multispectral data from the NASA/USGS Landsat 8 satellite constellation. If you're interested in looking back in time to understand landscape-scale changes and trends, Landsat 8 data provides a way to look at conditions all the way back to 2013 across the globe.

We’re proud to offer Landsat 8 data in the Lens Library. Landsat 8 was launched in February of 2013 as a NASA/USGS mission. The satellite includes sensors that measure visible, near infrared, and shortwave infrared data, which we provide through Lens in a few different ways depending on your monitoring needs. The spatial resolution of this data is 30m and it captures data approximately every 16 days. The ability to look back so far in time with frequent revisits has many applications including assessing large-scale changes on landscapes or understanding seasonal and annual trends in vegetation and water presence.
