How One Tree Planted uses Lens and Planet imagery to monitor and scale global reforestation programs

Monitoring reforestation projects at scale and assessing their impact can prove challenging without the appropriate tools. Large reforestation projects, like the ones managed by our partner One Tree Planted, require consistent monitoring and visibility to be successful and generate enthusiasm from donors and local communities. Satellite imagery offers a way to monitor the progress of projects at scale and build stakeholder confidence.

We recently sat down with the Planet team and Ross Bernet, Monitoring Manager at One Tree Planted, to discuss effectively monitoring reforestation projects and the importance of data accessibility and transparency. Lens has helped One Tree Planted access specific imagery when needed without the technical challenges and cost constraints of other platforms, giving them the space to focus and scale their global reforestation programs.
