Upstream Tech, a mission-driven environmental technology company, has announced a partnership with the Center for Geospatial Solutions, a part of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Together, Upstream Tech and the Center for Geospatial Solutions can offer a suite of geospatial services to land trust and conservation customers to support efficient, effective management and monitoring of conservation land around the world.

Upstream Tech’s Lens is an application that combines best-available satellite and aerial data with an efficient monitoring workflow. Lens makes it easy to monitor a broad range of properties, no matter how large or remote. Land trusts, project developers, and conservation organizations collectively use Lens to monitor millions of acres of properties. The Center for Geospatial Solutions can help partners access the full power of geospatial technology, from initially mapping properties or easements for use in Lens to translating organizational strategic plans into a property-scale evaluation of conservation benefits across entire service areas.

“Upstream Tech is committed to making sophisticated technology accessible to all conservation organizations without requiring teams to have any geospatial training or expertise,” said Marshall Moutenot, co-founder and Managing Director of Upstream Tech. “Lens offers remote monitoring capabilities to land trusts and conservation NGOs in a single, convenient application. Now, through our partnership with the Center for Geospatial Solutions, we can offer our Lens community access to a full set of geospatial support services to further enable and empower them in their conservation work.”

“Geospatial technologies can transform how organizations accomplish work and achieve larger goals, but fully realizing this potential can sometimes be a daunting challenge,” said Anne Scott, Executive Director of the Center for Geospatial Solutions. “Our mission is to help organizations get the best possible outcomes from using breakthrough technologies like Lens. From framing the relevant questions to creating actionable insights to building a sustainable data system within your organization, we are there to provide you with the tailored support that you may want.”
