Upstream Tech is a technology company that uses satellite data and machine learning to help organizations manage and monitor natural resources. We are growing quickly and building out our business development team that connects partner organizations and customers to our Lens and HydroForecast services.

Our team is seeking a summer intern to work with our Growth & Partnerships team. Responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business development outreach leads and supporting the sale of Upstream Tech’s existing services
  • Conducting market research to analyze new opportunities for application of Upstream Tech’s technical capabilities (e.g., coastal resilience, forestry, carbon markets, corporate supply chain sustainability)
  • Supporting marketing and outreach efforts to drive sales

The summer intern will support daily operations as well as 1-2 research projects throughout the course of the summer. The intern will interact regularly with the whole Upstream Tech team. The goal is to integrate closely into the workstreams of the Growth and Partnerships team and generate actionable insights that drive changes and improvements in our business.

This paid internship will be 8-10 weeks, part- or full-time over the course of the summer. Our team is remote, so this position can be located anywhere within the continental United States or Canada.

Preferred qualifications

  • Current graduate student in a relevant field (e.g., business, environmental management, engineering, energy).
  • 2-6 years prior work experience.
  • Industry knowledge or experience around land and water conservation issues.
  • Sales or business development experience.
