Klamath National Forest, CA

In this example, we're viewing the Klamath National Forest area in California. Lens can be used to track forest clearings and identify areas susceptible to erosion. Sometimes it's difficult to interpret topographical conditions through aerial imagery alone, but using 3D mode in Lens allows us to see if the cleared area is on a steep hillside. The area we see here is on an incline, which tells us it's a possible risk for erosion. We can make a note to visit the area in-person or order high-resolution imagery so that we can keep an eye on it in Lens.
